About The Position

Provide operational leadership for Community-Based Aging Services, including nutrition services, Rose-on-the-Go community based programming, senior centers, and Senior Companion services, ensuring effective, high-quality, and person-centered programs that support older adults’ independence, well-being, and connection to community. Oversee program operations, staff performance, partnerships, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure services are responsive to community needs, achieve organizational goals, and advance Benjamin Rose’s mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in gerontology, social work, healthcare administration, public health, nonprofit management, or a related field required.
  • Knowledge of community engagement strategies, outreach models, and approaches for delivering services in community-based settings.
  • Knowledge of nutrition services, senior center operations, transportation programs, volunteer-based services, and social determinants of health preferred.
  • Skilled in supervising and developing staff, managing multiple programs, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Skilled in building partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and aging network stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate program effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and implement operational enhancements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively lead change in a complex, mission-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, oral and electronic communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, including financial planning, budgeting, and revenue development.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Outlook and Office).
  • Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, accreditation, and funding requirements.
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in aging services, healthcare, nonprofit services, community-based programs, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to expand community presence and engagement through innovative service delivery models, including mobile and community-based programming.
  • Monitor program capacity, service utilization, productivity, and performance outcomes to ensure effective use of resources and achievement of program goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen service integration, and enhance client experience.
  • Collaborate across Benjamin Rose departments to improve internal referral processes, increase service awareness, and promote a coordinated experience for clients and caregivers.
  • Oversee fleet operations supporting Meals on Wheels, including vehicle utilization, maintenance coordination, safety practices, and operational processes to ensure reliable and efficient meal delivery services.
  • Ensure programs are delivered consistently across locations and community settings while maintaining quality, safety, and operational standards.
  • Support workforce development initiatives through student placements and partnerships with educational institutions.
  • Ensure both senior companion and program volunteers are effectively integrated into service delivery models and supported through appropriate supervision and engagement practices.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, funders, healthcare providers, and aging network partners.
  • Support the implementation of evidence-informed practices and collaborate with the Benjamin Rose Institute to incorporate research findings and best practices into program operations.
  • Represent Benjamin Rose within community initiatives, professional networks, and aging services partnerships.
  • Ensure programs operate in compliance with applicable regulations, funding requirements, contracts, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, planning efforts, and cross-functional teams that advance Benjamin Rose’s mission.
  • Demonstrate financial stewardship by managing resources effectively, overseeing budgets, interpreting financial information and identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and sustainability.
  • Provide effective leadership by developing high-performing teams, coaching and mentoring employees, managing performance and accountability, fostering engagement, communicating clearly and transparently, leading change, exercising sound decision-making, and promoting continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, community partners, referral sources, and external stakeholders to strengthen services, support organizational priorities, and advance the mission.
  • Leads effective and compliant operations by overseeing programs, applying quality improvement practices, using data to inform decisions, implementing best practices, improving processes, and effectively managing operational responsibilities and resources.
  • Advance program growth and sustainability by identifying emerging needs and opportunities, improving services and practices, pursuing innovation and implementing strategies that align with organizational goals.
