About The Position

The Management Trainee position at MIT involves learning and assisting multiple departments and positions as needed, working with management to understand the Company's operations proficiently. This role provides exposure to various aspects of the business, including Operations, Safety, Driver Recruiting, Pricing & Analytics, Maintenance/Shop, and off-site Operations. The trainee will also gain experience in supervisory responsibilities, process improvement, and inter-departmental collaboration.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Uses critical thinking to solve problems and makes decisions independently.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Bachelor's degree; or three to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Learns and assists multiple departments and positions as needed, including Operations, Safety, Driver Recruiting, Pricing & Analytics, Maintenance/Shop, and off-site Operations.
• Provides feedback and suggestions on process efficiencies and improvements.
• Works with managers post-training to provide backup, as needed.
• Learns to perform supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel and drivers by coaching, planning, assigning work, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and training employees.
• Establishes and maintains positive work relationships.
• Travels and/or relocates as needed for additional training and to learn and assist with other locations.
• Receives and carries out instructions.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
