The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level program designed to prepare participants for a Store Management role in 18–24 months. After successfully completing the initial eight-week training, participants may progress into an Assistant Store Manager position. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Participants collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and contribute leadership and insight to the store’s development and strategy. The program provides training in store operations, clients, internal strategy, customer service, sales and marketing, finance, and operations. Participants sell to large commercial users, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other customers who need large volumes of products. The program includes formal discussions to review objectives and development, leadership development, and opportunities to build professional relationships in the community. The position involves contact with customers, potentially including minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other items of value. Sherwin-Williams states that it reviews criminal history to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
