The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level position intended to prepare participants for a Store Management role in 18–24 months. After successfully completing the initial eight-week training, participants may progress into an Assistant Store Manager position. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Participants collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and contribute leadership and insight to the store’s development and strategy. The program introduces participants to store operations, customers, and internal strategy. The role also involves growing market share by selling to commercial users, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other customers who purchase products in large volumes. Training covers customer service, sales, marketing, finance, and operations, while providing structured development discussions and opportunities to build professional relationships in the community. Job duties involve contact with customers, potentially including minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other items of value. The company states that a criminal-history review is necessary to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.
