About The Position
The Make Ready Technician helps maintain efficient property operations by clearing and preparing vacant units for new residents. The role includes removing items left after move-out, completing make-ready and move-in services according to checklists, and supporting other maintenance and preventive maintenance work. The technician communicates positively with residents, vendors, and coworkers, follows company policies including safety and Fair Housing requirements, and escalates unresolved service issues to the Service Director. Weekend work may be required, and the technician may participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency calls as needed.
Requirements
- Two years of maintenance experience is preferred.
- Depending on the property, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance may be required.
Nice To Haves
- HVAC experience with Type 1 and 2 or Universal certification.
- Proficiency in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and appliance repair.
Responsibilities
- Clear out and dispose of items left behind after move-out.
- Complete make-ready apartment services according to the move-out checklist, including painting tasks.
- Perform new move-in service requests according to the move-in checklist.
- Assist with taking inventory of supplies and provide the supervisor with a list of needed supplies.
- Assist with completing other service requests.
- Assist with preventive maintenance projects.
- Escalate unresolved service issues to the Service Director.
- May participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Communicate positively with residents, vendors, and coworkers.
- Adhere to company policies, including safety and Fair Housing requirements.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
