About The Position

ABB is hiring a Maintenance employee for an onsite role in Fort Smith, Arkansas, working the 3rd shift and reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The position supports reliable equipment operation by diagnosing and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including servomotors, controls, compressors, and related components. The employee interprets electrical schematics, uses electrical tools, and researches technical information to work on unfamiliar equipment.

The role also involves performing preventive maintenance, documenting repairs, maintaining an organized and clean work area, and following safety procedures including lockout/tagout. The employee prioritizes workplace safety, works closely with machine operators, and supports overtime needs to keep equipment running reliably. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, control systems, and PLC troubleshooting.
• Skill in reading technical documentation, diagnosing machine issues, repairing heavy machinery, and clearly communicating root causes.
• Ability to adapt, stay organized, manage multiple priorities, cross-train, learn new technologies, and communicate professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred; alternatively, two years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including servomotors, controls, compressors, and related components.
• Interpret electrical schematics, operate electrical tools, and research technical information needed to repair new or unfamiliar equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate repair records.
• Keep the maintenance area organized, clean, and compliant with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
• Prioritize workplace safety and collaborate closely with machine operators.
• Support overtime needs to keep equipment running reliably.
