About The Position

The Maintenance Worker performs regular preventive maintenance on large industrial textile processing equipment and maintains the facility. The role assists the Maintenance Technician and/or Chief Engineer as needed and reports to the Chief Engineer. Work is performed using instructions and established guidelines, with limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks. The position requires mechanical aptitude, safe and efficient work practices, and cooperation with plant personnel. Occasional travel may be needed to procure parts.

Requirements

Maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, or other safety violations.
Demonstrate adequate mechanical aptitude.
Be proficient in the proper use of power and hand tools.
Have good verbal and written communication skills in English; comprehend and follow directions; perform basic math; and demonstrate good time-management and teamwork skills.
Be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work, and be dedicated to continual quality improvement.
Complete a background check and safety-sensitive drug screening as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic maintenance, including monitoring oil levels and servicing grease fittings, lint traps, and shaker screen barrels.
Perform limited electrical troubleshooting.
Assist with problem resolution to minimize equipment downtime.
Identify opportunities to continually improve maintenance processes.
Work cooperatively and professionally with plant personnel and support other branch personnel as directed.
Follow safety rules, company policies, industry practices, and applicable laws.
Perform work safely and efficiently, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete other tasks as directed by supervision.
Drive to pick up parts and transport equipment or parts as needed.
