About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of facility maintenance tasks with minimal supervision at McDowell Center for Children, a 28-bed facility in Dyersburg, Tennessee, serving adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, or substance abuse issues. Tasks include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC tests and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance, and janitorial duties. The role supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values and helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented facility and grounds.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED required.
• One to three years of related work experience required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete and maintain competency training in CPR, HWC, verbal de-escalation, aggression management, crisis intervention, and restraint training.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of behavioral health management practices preferred.

Responsibilities
