About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Worker to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff at our early learning facility. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, responds promptly to maintenance needs, and is committed to ensuring our building and grounds remain in excellent condition.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and any licensing requirements applicable to childcare facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep.
  • Complete daily custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom cleaning, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and playgrounds.
  • Assemble, repair, and move furniture, equipment, and classroom materials.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Assist with facility setup for meetings, events, and special activities.
  • Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and secure.
