The Maintenance Worker II provides sub-journeyman work in the performance of a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in one or more craft areas. This role is responsible for make-ready duties in apartments and residence halls, and performing maintenance and repair work in areas such as painting, carpentry (countertops, doors, framing, drywall), furniture and equipment moving, light plumbing, basic appliance repair/installation, and light electrical work. The position also involves assisting journeymen and carpenters in major projects, providing quality customer service to ensure a comfortable living environment for students, and performing emergency mechanical repairs. Additionally, the Maintenance Worker II serves as essential personnel, required to report to work during campus emergencies and closures, and may be assigned other duties as needed. Driving a UTA vehicle is also a responsibility.
