Tessera is seeking a dependable General Maintenance Worker II to perform semi-skilled to skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment. This individual may be required to use manual or power tools to complete work assignments.

Requirements

  • Valid State Driver’s license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance company.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Facilities Maintenance industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of tasks, to include painting, carpentry (includes siding), plumbing, masonry, grouting ceramic tile floors/walls, and minor electrical work.
  • Replace glass in windows and doors.
  • Replace/repair door hardware.
  • Clear roof drains and gutters.
  • Use plaster or compound to patch holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Touch up painting and caulking.
  • Repair sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Caulk plumbing fixtures.
  • Responsible for minor repairs on concrete floors, steps, stoops, decks, and sidewalks.
  • Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors; informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
  • Communicate with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
  • Follow all Safety Procedures and Policies.
