About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safety of staff and visitors and the security of the building. Working closely with the Facilities Supervisor, the role supports timely work-order completion and the security and upkeep of the main office and the 150 N. Clinton Rd. location. The position requires constant communication and excellent customer service. This part-time position is scheduled for 20 or more hours per week and pays $16 to $19 per hour.

Requirements

Ability to work independently and unsupervised after hours.
Conscientious and detail-oriented approach to work.
Experience in painting, maintenance, and minor repairs.
Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
Ability to provide own transportation when needed.
Flexibility with work schedules.
Ability to relate well with others and work as part of a team with a positive attitude.
Customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

Vacuum carpeted areas.
Clean all building bathrooms.
Maintain non-carpeted flooring by sweeping, washing, and polishing as needed.
Perform miscellaneous maintenance and repairs, such as replacing overhead light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing problems, hanging pictures, and painting.
Keep entranceways free from snow and ice during winter.
Wash all inside windows and first-floor outside windows semi-annually.
Escort employees, Board members, and others to the parking lot after hours or when needed.
Coordinate subcontractors performing maintenance and repair work not handled in-house.
Secure the building upon departure each evening when assigned.
Occasionally work off-hours and weekends for special projects or building security purposes.
Maintain communication for emergency situations, recognizing that work assignments and hours may change.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Attend and support Urban League of Rochester events and fundraising functions.
