Maintenance Technician (Part Time) - Russell Hall

About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs at Russell Hall, a student housing property, and completes unit turns. The role addresses residents’ work orders, works with vendors and suppliers, and communicates professionally with residents, property management, office staff, and other stakeholders. The position is part-time, approximately 16 hours per week, with flexible daytime hours and the opportunity to increase hours based on seasonal needs. The technician must also be able to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours requests.

Requirements

At least 2 years of general maintenance experience or equivalent training.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying 10 to 50 pounds, occasional pushing and pulling, climbing stairs and ladders, and frequent bending.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Washington State and City of Seattle Landlord-Tenant Laws.

Responsibilities

Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, minor appliance repairs, and cleaning.
Complete unit turns, including servicing appliances, plumbing and electrical systems; replacing faulty parts; re-keying locks; replacing burnt-out light bulbs; and interior painting.
Address and follow up on residents’ work order requests in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain positive, professional relationships with vendors and suppliers and work with them to achieve suitable products and pricing for the properties.
Communicate effectively and professionally with residents, tenants, the Property Manager, Portfolio Manager, office staff, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
Complete all work in a timely and professional manner.
Work flexible hours and respond to after-hours requests.
