About The Position

Perform routine and specific maintenance services, which may include grounds work. Maintain and repair the facility and its equipment, follow preventive maintenance instructions, and inspect and maintain building systems and emergency equipment. Handle tools and equipment safely and respond as a backup emergency call person when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of standard practices, procedures, and tools in general building and maintenance trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs to the facility and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment repair or similar work.
• Serve as a backup emergency call person and respond promptly and appropriately.
• Handle equipment safely to prevent accidents and demonstrate safe use of tools.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and instructions and complete requested reports.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment; test and start the generator weekly and maintain the equipment.
• Inspect and maintain the fire alarm system, including fire doors, audible and visible alarms, and smoke detectors; record data on required forms.
• Check the condition and readiness of fire extinguishers monthly.
• Inspect and maintain the facility lighting system.
• Inspect and maintain the plumbing system; replace or repair faucets, toilets, urinals, traps, drains, basins, and bathtubs as needed.
• Repair or refinish furniture in rooms, offices, and the dining room as needed.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
