About The Position

The Maintenance Technician completes preventative and predictive maintenance to support machine reliability and process improvements at Nestlé Purina’s Zanesville pet food factory. The role works collaboratively and with a focus on safety to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, and to maintain plant systems and facility infrastructure. The Zanesville facility produces Moist & Meaty® pet food for the United States and Canada.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment, or completion of a two-year technical degree.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with 480 industrial voltages.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation plant systems.
• Install and program Variable Frequency Drives.
• Install control and distribution apparatus, including switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain switch gears, control wiring and components, and overcurrent and overload protection for plant motors, including three-phase systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
• Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment.
• Maintain the wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs.
• Use thermal imaging and ultrasonic analysis.
