About The Position

The High School Teacher instructs students in a regular classroom setting in a designated subject area. The teacher fosters a positive classroom atmosphere and maintains discipline to support student motivation and learning. The role also involves building rapport with students, using available curriculum resources, maintaining student personnel folders, and recording and forwarding daily attendance to Student Records. The position is with Denison Job Corps, a residential career training program serving eligible young people ages 16 through 24.

Requirements

• Certified to teach in the state of Iowa.
• Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy; the safety-sensitive role also requires pre-employment drug/alcohol testing consistent with state law and organizational policy.
• Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
