Maintenance Technician in Tallahassee, FL
About The Position
The Collier Companies is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician based at one of its community offices in Tallahassee, Florida. The role supports the Maintenance Team in keeping the property’s physical aspects in line with established company standards. The technician troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and develops solutions while providing customer service to residents. Repairs may involve HVAC (if certified), electrical systems, plumbing, pools, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances. This full-time position includes an emergency on-call commitment, and overtime during the summer/fall turn season. The role requires basic tools, reliable transportation, and a valid in-state driver’s license. Background checks and a candidate assessment are required parts of the hiring process.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a maintenance technician is preferred.
- Working knowledge of appliances, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented when completing work orders.
- Able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and emergency on-call rotation.
- Proven track record of excellent customer service.
- Must have basic tools and be able to pass a basic maintenance test.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid in-state driver’s license.
- Must complete the required background check and candidate assessment.

Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Team in maintaining the physical aspects of the property according to company standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance problems and implement solutions.
- Complete repairs that may involve HVAC if certified, electrical systems, plumbing, pools, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to residents’ needs.
- Participate in an emergency on-call rotation.
