Maintenance Technician/Painter (3pm-11pm shift)

About The Position

The Maintenance Technician at The Newbury of Brookline is responsible for maintaining the community by repairing and maintaining buildings, grounds, and support equipment. This is a full-time position on the 3pm–11pm shift, with availability to work one weekend day. The role pays $25.50–$26 per hour and includes a $400 sign-on bonus. Indoor and outdoor painting experience is preferred. The position includes diagnosing and repairing issues across a range of building systems and completing service requests. The technician also helps prepare vacant apartments for occupancy, supports the organization and prioritization of maintenance work, and may supervise other associates and outside contractors. Employment offers are contingent on completing the pre-employment process, including passing a drug screen, TB test, and background check.

Requirements

Be a great team player.
One year of experience in property management maintenance.
Able to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
Able to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Indoor and outdoor painting experience.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Technical training or HVAC certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair problems involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware and accessories, masonry, painting and wallpaper, water features such as pools and spas, and waste management systems.
Complete assigned service requests.
Perform turn-key work to make vacant apartments rent-ready in a timely manner.
Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks.
May supervise the work of other associates and outside contractors.
