About The Position

The Maintenance Technician at The Newbury of Brookline is responsible for the upkeep of the community through the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and support equipment. This is a full-time position on a 3pm–11pm shift that requires one weekend day. Indoor and outdoor painting experience is preferred. The role involves diagnosing and repairing problems across a range of building systems and completing service requests and turn-key work so vacant apartment homes are rent-ready in a timely manner. The technician may also help organize and prioritize maintenance work and may supervise other associates and outside contractors.

Requirements

Be a great team player.
One year of experience in property management maintenance.
Ability to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
Ability to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Indoor and outdoor painting experience preferred.
Technical training or HVAC certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair problems involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting and wallpaper, water features such as pools and spas, and waste management systems.
Complete assigned service requests.
Complete turn-key work as required to ensure vacant apartment homes are rent-ready in a timely manner.
Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks.
May supervise the work of other associates and outside contractors.
