About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join the team at Schoolhouse Apartments, a 400-unit affordable senior living community in Waterbury, Connecticut. The role performs maintenance throughout rental units, residential common areas, the office, grounds, and parking lots. The pay range is $25.00–$27.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with on-call duty for one week every six weeks.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• Current vehicle license in good standing and compliance with the driving-record standards in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for off-hours on-call activity for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues involving appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and ensure they are market ready according to company standards.
• Perform maintenance service orders related to preventive maintenance, building and safety inspections, and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Provide on-call coverage during off-hours for emergencies and other needs according to a predetermined schedule.
