About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Autumn Ridge Village, a 251-unit Project Based Section 8 housing community in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The technician performs maintenance throughout the community, including rental units, residential common areas, the office, grounds, and parking lots. The pay range is $20.00–$21.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating on-call schedule of two weeks on call and four weeks off call.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training.
• A current vehicle license in good standing and a driving record that meets the standards in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs involving appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical work, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures.
• Help prepare vacant apartments for market-ready status according to company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for off-hours and emergency on-call activity according to a predetermined schedule and business needs.
