About The Position

The Maintenance Tech role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and fabricating various machine and building systems. This includes hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, motor controls, and PLC computers. The role also involves metal fabrication, welding, building maintenance, and ordering repair parts. Additionally, the position requires basic computer skills for maintenance databases and SAP, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to safety protocols. The technician will also train operators on machine maintenance and inspection, and read blueprints and schematics.

Requirements

Able to communicate with his or her manager or supervisor and understand instructions, as well as communicate with fellow employees while on a job.
Be able to read a Maintenance work order, and or fill out a maintenance work order.
Ability to add, subtract, and multiply fractions.
Be able to use a calculator for all aspects of math functions.
Be proficient with a protractor.
The Employee shall be able to isolate mechanical, including (pneumatic/hydraulic), and basic electrical problems and repair them within a reasonable amount of time.
At times occasional lifting / carrying up to 25 pounds required with more frequent lifting/carrying of 1-20 pounds.
The job requires reaching below waist and knee, and at waist level, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs on rare occasions.
More frequent hand/wrist work, keyboarding and mousing, power grasping, and pushing/pulling materials.
More frequent walking left and right-hand work and simple grasping and constantly standing on feet for extended periods of time.
Knowledgeable on all applicable codes

Responsibilities

Identifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and fabricates hydraulic machines / systems
Identifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and fabricates electrical systems
Identifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and fabricates electrical and motor controls/ systems
Fabricates with metal and/or repair metal structures, includes welding and torch use
Repairs / maintains building and building systems
Programs / troubleshoots / installs / repairs PLC computers / systems.
Trains operators and/ or supervisors in the proper way to maintain / inspect machines
Orders repair and spare parts for machines
Basic computer skills, including Windows, Word Processing, spreadsheets, and MPS System (Maintenance database software) and SAP.
Cleans area / tools / maintenance shop
Safety – must be able to perform all requirements safely.
Blueprint/schematic reading-drawing.
