About The Position

At Nestlé USA, we are dedicated to delighting consumers with our beloved brands. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for all maintenance functions essential for efficient plant operations, including manufacturing, processing, packaging, and associated utilities. You will also provide mentorship and skill development to Maintenance and Operations teams in areas such as loss elimination, risk management, and life cycle asset management to support a proactive planned maintenance program. This role involves training, mentoring, and assessing mechanics on maintenance and engineering elements of Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to foster a "Continuous Improvement and Zero Loss" culture, alongside supervision and regulatory compliance of the environmental program. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of production equipment maintenance.
  • Direct experience in management of mechanics for equipment maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of utilities and facility equipment.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop others; able to prioritize, coordinate, and direct users, teams, and multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of TPM / PM Pillar Tools including: Breakdown Analysis, Reliability Center Maintenance Practices, PM Optimization and Predictive Maintenance Technologies (infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, etc.).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for food safety.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the cost drivers of maintenance in manufacturing operations.
  • Good working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo) with the ability to mine and analyze data for trends/reports.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the factory to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or areas of common occurrence, prioritizing areas with the highest incidence or impact.
  • Ensure detailed review of all essential lines, processes, and utilities, especially those where failure could impact safety, food safety, environment, or legal compliance.
  • Monitor plant/equipment trends to ensure optimal operation and reduce planned/unplanned downtime.
  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators in line with Best Maintenance Practices.
  • Facilitate the evolution and refinement of maintenance activities to minimize planned and unplanned downtime (e.g., PMs, changeovers).
  • Maintain processing and packaging equipment and systems to decrease unplanned downtime and increase reliability and availability.
  • Implement all repairs/modifications resulting from gap assessments, plant audits, and notifications with timely execution and high-quality workmanship.
  • Own job planning and validate material and services planning for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead the accurate completion of documentation for equipment history, damage codes, and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and lead a network of Factory Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Train and guide SMEs in the implementation and leadership of the NCE Reliability program within their factories.
  • Evaluate team member performance and provide periodic feedback for development.
  • Share maintenance-related best practices across all Nestlé factories via corporate engineering channels.
  • Collaborate with corporate engineers, suppliers, contractors, and plant partners to meet customer needs.
  • Encourage close partnerships between all functions (Engineering, Production, Quality Management, etc.).
  • Conduct regular plant inspections to identify potential problems and gather operator feedback.
  • Consolidate and analyze factory Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budgets, driving sustainable improvements with support from Group Engineering Specialists and Managers.
  • Manage the technical stores, scheduled Work Orders, labor hour allocation, and equipment Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Support and backfill the rollout and sustainability of the TPM-PM Pillar across Nestlé USA and Canada factories.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
