The Maintenance Supervisor oversees and directs Maintenance Mechanics to ensure efficiency and reduced downtime. This role involves planning, scheduling, and supervising preventative maintenance tasks, daily work orders, and small projects. The supervisor will develop scopes of work, estimate time and labor costs, determine necessary teams, prepare material requisitions, and monitor material delivery. They will also monitor work progress, communicate problems, document changes, and provide reports. Ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks with acceptable quality standards is key. The role requires the ability to build and lead an agile, high-performing team, with daily supervision of up to 15 mechanics. Participation in team meetings and decisions, continuous improvement of the plant maintenance program, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems are also essential. Maintaining equipment histories and participating in Continuous Improvement and Total Preventative Maintenance activities are part of the responsibilities. A trained designee will be appointed by plant management to cover for absences or vacancies.
