About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing maintenance operations to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment and facilities. This role provides direct supervision to maintenance personnel and is accountable for preventative maintenance, repairs, safety compliance, and accurate timekeeping for the maintenance team. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Areas: Compounding, Recycling, Wash lines, Size Reduction, Blending & Pulverizing Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; mechanical degree preferred.
3–5 years of industrial, manufacturing or recycling maintenance (plastic preferred) supervisor experience preferred.
Working knowledge of timekeeping systems (Dayforce preferred).
Computer data entry skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal people management and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented and ability to prioritize.
Ability to multi-task.
Possess problem solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
Self-motivator.
Ability to operate a fork truck.
Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
Must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.
Repeatedly reach with hands and arms.
Climb straight incline ladders.
Have use of fingers and hands for packaging and writing.
Must have color vision.

Supervise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance technicians and contractors.
Ensure preventative maintenance activities are completed according to established schedules.
Oversee troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Support machine uptime and minimize downtime through proactive maintenance planning.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
Coordinate maintenance activities with production and operations teams.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment service history.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability.
Review, correct, and approve maintenance employee timesheets in the timekeeping system.
Ensure all hours worked, overtime, PTO, and attendance entries are accurate and submitted by payroll deadlines.
Investigate and resolve timekeeping discrepancies in coordination with HR and Payroll.
Ensure proper staffing coverage for all shifts, weekends, and special projects.
Responsible for the safety of his/her employees and the safe operation of the plant while on shift.
Models safety in his/her behaviors, conversations, and decisions.
Mentor and Coach team on safety practices.
Responsible for safety huddles at the beginning of the shift.
Supervise team follows Blue Polymers Life Safety Rules.
Supervise the use of PPE and flowing the PPE Matrix.
Engage Team on the safe operation of forklifts.
Directs housekeeping practices during the shift.
Supervise the prevention of pellet spills and any other environmental impact at the site.
Ensure the team is training according the plan.
Reports on a timely manner any safety and environmental incident.
Ensures his/her team has a quality mindset and responsible for product quality while on shift
Lead team to produce quality maintenance on machinery, on-time in accordance with production schedule.
Ensure maintenance operations align with Blue Polymers policies and procedures.
Enforce adherence to safety programs, lockout/tagout procedures, and training requirements.
Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional conduct within the maintenance team.
Maintain compliance with wage and hour regulations related to timekeeping
Ensures the team is gainfully employed and productively producing product to meet shift/day/weekly and monthly production requirements.
Forms a complete team that can complete all aspects of running a shift. Requests assistance from site leadership when there are gaps which prevents his/her team from meeting business expectations.
Ensure all maintenance activities are performed, documented, and completed to required standards of safety, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. Is diligent in accounting for material and ensuring the work order process is followed.
Oversee, guide, and participate in shift training of all production employees and new hires.
Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to the work area and all tasks.
Uphold the Blue Polymers Code of Conduct standards.
Other duties as assigned by the Compounding Plant Manager.
