About The Position

The Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, mechanical items related to machine operations, will assist in troubleshooting and diagnostics of machine related issues to ensure quality.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of PLC, CNC and NC machinery
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS software, Oracle
  • Experience in reading and writing machine code (M code, G code)
  • BS in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or combination of education and experience
  • At least five years of maintenance experience in a machine shop environment required.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical specifications
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a union shop

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day supervision of maintenance personnel
  • Promotes a Safety conscious work environment
  • Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
  • Determine schedules sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment and the skill of personnel
  • Monitory inventories and condition of maintenance shop to ensure safe adequate working conditions. Order repair material and spare parts as needed
  • Analyze equipment failure to prevent future problems
  • Observes and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other test devises
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis to determine failures and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in Capital Expenditures planning by providing input regarding equipment failure history and recommending equipment upgrades
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed
  • Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results
  • Develop, implement or evaluate maintenance policy and procedures
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Counsel employees about work related issues and assist employees to correct job skill deficiencies
  • Investigate accidents or injuries and prepares reports of findings
