About The Position
Precoat Metals is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a strong electrical background for its Portage, Indiana team. The supervisor assists the Maintenance Manager with supervising maintenance technicians who maintain and repair plant equipment, buildings, and grounds. The role includes directing and supporting maintenance employees, helping coordinate plant-wide operations, supporting preventive maintenance planning, managing parts inventory and purchases, documenting incidents and accidents, and promoting safe work practices.
Requirements
- Five years of hourly multi-craft maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
- Ability to train, motivate, and direct maintenance employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Computer skills for updating shift reports and work orders and using email.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to be on call and work a flexible schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Three years of supervision in industrial maintenance.
- Knowledge of Add Reliance Automax, RSLogix, SLC500 PLCs, Reliance DC and AC drives, and Allen-Bradley PowerFlex AC drives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling and maintaining factual information on plant facilities.
- Assist in supervising daily maintenance department activities and instruct, direct, and support maintenance employees as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Help ensure equipment is used responsibly to maximize productivity.
- Ensure maintenance work is performed correctly and completely, and direct employees to accomplish maintenance activities.
- Work with management to coordinate plant-wide activities related to overall operations.
- Provide information to support short- and long-range preventive maintenance programs.
- Manage inventory and purchase parts as needed.
- Document shift incidents and accidents using the appropriate plant or corporate forms.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure shift employees wear the correct PPE and follow safety rules.
- Generate Corrective Work Orders from Preventative Maintenance Work Orders.
