About The Position

This role assists the Maintenance Manager in all functional and operational activities in plant maintenance. This includes troubleshooting, repairs, nightly preventative maintenance procedures, and supervision of all subordinate maintenance staff. The position involves setting up and operating various types of production tools and equipment prior to approving for production use. The employee regularly works on the plant floor and must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus formal training leading to Journeyman status in Machine Repair and/or equivalent on the job experience.
• Advanced working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
• 5 plus years of related work experience.
• Successful completion of all courses and/or tests outlined in the Department Training Phases I, II & III.
• Advanced equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of NEC and ANSI codes.
• Familiarity with automotive specifications.
• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems sufficient to diagnose and repair machines.
• Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks required.
• Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.
• Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to plant operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair problems with plant machinery & equipment.
• Implementation and installation of new and rebuilt equipment.
• Operate machinery, tools, gages, forklift equipment and booms.
• Perform electrical work including 480 v 3 phase, basic wiring of lights, presses and welders.
• Perform installation of plumbing, water, drain and air systems for presses, welders and building.
• Maintenance of building and grounds during all seasons.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Oversee the maintenance team and manage all associated projects.
