About The Position
The Maintenance Service Technician – Handyman repairs common service problems associated with manufactured housing and helps maintain a successful model home center. The role provides excellent customer service by promptly responding to service calls and completing repairs thoroughly and on time. The position requires varied handyman skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. The technician performs general property maintenance, completes service requests, provides preventative care for HVAC and other systems, and repairs exterior and roof damage. The role involves physically strenuous work, including lifting and moving heavy items, climbing ladders, and working in varied weather conditions. Clayton offers an hourly wage starting at $24.00, or higher depending on experience, and opportunities for professional development and advancement. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Numerous and varied handyman skills.
- Reliability, dependability, friendliness, a solid work ethic, and pride in work.
- Strong organization, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to a high level of customer satisfaction and strong customer relations skills.
- Hand-eye coordination and physical strength; ability to stoop, bend, lift, and climb.
- Ability to lift and move items such as furniture, wallboard, and water heaters weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Endurance to perform strenuous tasks.
- Ability to safely climb ladders.
- Ability to work in all environments, including extreme heat or cold, rain, and snow.
- Ability to excel in and contribute to a team environment; cooperative and collaborative approach.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and post-offer drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance to maintain property appearance and condition.
- Complete service requests.
- Perform preventative care on HVAC and other systems.
- Repair exterior and roof damage.
- Respond promptly to service calls and complete repairs thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Assist with miscellaneous duties as required.
