About The Position
The Maintenance Repairman 1 position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers a great opportunity to grow your hands-on skills. This role lets you work on buildings, trails, and equipment that support the William Penn Forest District. You will learn new techniques from skilled staff while gaining confidence in practical repair work. This position helps you make a positive impact on the forest while building a strong foundation for future advancement.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
Responsibilities
- Assist with repairs and improvements to district offices, cabins, pavilions, and other facilities
- Support upkeep of roads, trails, boundary lines, and parking areas
- Help complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on automotive and motorized equipment
- Keep construction, electrical, plumbing, and masonry tools in good working condition
- Assist with wildfire prevention, detection, and suppression activities as part of forest fire duties
- Support inventory tasks, exhibit construction, pest management, and other district programs
