About The Position

The Forest Technician position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources invites you to play a vital role in protecting and enhancing the natural lands of the William Penn State Forest District. This position supports the management and protection of forest resources across the William Penn State Forest District. You will assist forestry professionals with field work, data collection, and project implementation.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in forest technology; or Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support upkeep of boundary lines, signage, and recreation areas
  • Gather measurements and observations on forest conditions and health
  • Assist with tree planting, invasive species work, and recreation improvements
  • Help with prevention efforts, training activities, and wildfire response when required
  • Compile and record field findings for use by forestry professionals
