About The Position

Responsible for creating the showroom’s first impression and maintaining a “brand new” image and attractive setting. The role maintains the cleanliness of the showroom, offices, restrooms, storage spaces, building exterior, and parking lot, and looks for ways to keep the store clean and orderly. The position reports directly to and is supervised by the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, with direction from the visual merchandiser. It supports showroom operations through cleaning, organizing storage areas, maintaining the exterior, assisting with furniture assembly and customer pickups, receiving and inspecting deliveries, and helping with floor moves, displays, and resets. The employee is expected to follow safety guidelines and Household Furniture Company's vision and values, and to perform other related duties or special projects as assigned by the store manager. The position is at Household Furniture in Las Cruces, 700 S Telshor Blvd., Las Cruces, NM 88011. The posted schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a one-hour lunch each day; Sunday and Wednesday are off.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate.
Ability to work in an organized and safety-conscious manner.
Ability to work as part of a team with an enthusiastic attitude.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
Ability to read, understand, and write English.
Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds without assistance with use of a safety belt.
Ability to use tools or equipment specific to the cleaning process.
Ability to walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, use and/or control tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear, and see up close, in color, with depth and distance vision, and adjust focus.
A valid driver's license and maintained clear and safe driving record may be required to drive to another location or obtain showroom supplies.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a maintenance or housekeeping position is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Clean the showroom, office, restrooms, break room, and storage areas.
Clean the showroom floor daily, including sweeping and mopping hard-surface floors.
Empty trashcans daily or as needed and replace their liners.
Recheck restrooms periodically throughout the day and perform needed touch-ups.
Organize and maintain showroom storage areas.
Inspect the showroom exterior regularly, maintain the planters, and keep the parking lot clean.
Follow safety guidelines and immediately report safety concerns to the Store Manager.
Assist with furniture assembly for the showroom or customer pickup as needed.
Open, assemble, inspect, and clean merchandise; perform minor touch-ups as needed before customer pickups and load merchandise for pickups.
Receive deliveries from the warehouse, FedEx, UPS, and other sources, and notify Customer Care Specialists and/or visual staff.
Inspect delivered merchandise during unloading to ensure showroom quality.
Assist the visual merchandiser with floor moves, store displays, and resets when needed.
Hang and remove rugs from the rack.

Perform other related duties or special projects assigned by the store manager.
