About The Position

The Maintenance Porter performs facility maintenance and cleaning duties while interacting with customers. The role includes housekeeping, equipment service, inspections, upkeep of parking garage areas and equipment, and responding to customer needs. The employee is expected to work with minimal supervision, follow checklists and directions from the facility manager or supervisor, and maintain a neat appearance in complete uniform during scheduled shifts. Previous experience is preferred but is not required for all positions.

Requirements

High school diploma or a combination of experience and education.
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

A valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and acceptable driving record is required only if driving a company vehicle or on company business is expected.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience is preferred, though it is not required for all positions.
Facility maintenance, electrical, or painting experience or skills training may be required depending on the job assignment and facility.

Responsibilities

Complete maintenance and cleaning checklist tasks, removing dirt, dust, litter, and debris throughout the facility.
Walk the garage daily to identify and correct maintenance problems.
Sweep and clean garage entrances, exits, stairwells, rails, booth, office, restrooms, and other designated areas.
Empty trash cans in the garage, booth, and office.
Paint facility surfaces as directed to keep them properly maintained and neat.
Replace burned-out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
Submit requests for repairs or maintenance.
Check safety items, including ensuring gate-arm clearance bars are secure.
Check ticket spitters and gates daily for proper operation, ticket supply, clock accuracy, and general appearance.
Provide ticket and gate-counter records to the manager.
Maintain an inventory of janitorial supplies and a garage or lot sweep sheet.
Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, outdoor equipment, and other electrical or light-duty tools as applicable.
Shovel, plow, or blow snow from ramps and other areas designated by the Facility Manager.
Report suspected policy violations, safety hazards, and unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager promptly.
Practice the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction and Five Customer Service Behaviors.
Assist customers and resolve complaints independently or with supervisor assistance.
Learn all aspects of the operation and cover duties such as cashier or attendant as needed.
Maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear the complete uniform during scheduled shifts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
