About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for reporting to work on time and in uniform. Duties include sweeping, office cleaning, mopping, and removing trash as assigned by management. This role involves cleaning restrooms and elevators, sweeping/picking up trash throughout the facility on all levels, and picking up trash around the outside perimeter of the garage. The position also requires organizing supplies, dusting, and sweeping stair wheels as needed. Routine checks and emptying of trash cans throughout the facility are also part of the job. Facility maintenance includes inspection of the entire facility, changing light bulbs (including in elevators), weed abatement, painting as needed, and performing minor repairs throughout the facility. The role also involves greeting customers with a smile, providing pleasant customer service, assisting with directions, and being available to answer customer service-related questions and issues. Demonstrating knowledge of the facility, cooperating with team members, and utilizing etiquette and professionalism are essential. Reporting operational issues, facility conditions, or potential problems to management is required. The ability and willingness to perform additional duties assigned by management, comply with company rules and policies, and maintain communication with the supervisor on duty are also necessary. All incidents/accidents must be reported to the supervisor on duty.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or five years of similar work experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret federal, state and local transportation regulations as well as reports and procedures.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
  • Ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply.
  • Ability to write statements/reports.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment.
  • Must be willing to pass a physical as part of the selection process as required by airport, federal DOT and/or state regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • All Maintenance personnel must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing and talking.
  • Occasionally requires fine dexterity, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling, bending and twisting.
  • Rarely requires kneeling and climbing.

  • Light maintenance and prolonged sitting and frequent standing are a normal part of the job.
