About The Position

Caviness Beef Packers is hiring for its Amarillo Grind Plant. The Maintenance Mechanic role covers a variety of skill levels and may include mechanic assistants and electricians. Maintenance and electronic/electrical workers help maintain the facility and its equipment so they operate efficiently. The position involves working around machinery and power sources, using tools to repair and maintain equipment, and supporting safety, food safety, quality, cleanliness, and housekeeping. The schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays.

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Knowledge of basic tools and maintenance-related subjects.
• Willingness to participate on teams such as HAZMAT.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• May operate heavy machinery.
• Use a variety of tools to repair, retrieve, and maintain equipment in working order.
• Conduct daily area setup and troubleshoot equipment or operational issues.
• Work around or with machinery and power sources such as electricity.
• Ensure safety, food safety, and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Help maintain a safe working environment.
