JSL Technologies, Inc. is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic (Electrician) for a contingent hire position, pending contract award. This role involves supporting Civil Engineering Equipment (CEE) and warehouse electrical systems maintenance at the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC), Cheatham Annex in Williamsburg, VA. The incumbent will be responsible for electrical maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation on various equipment related to Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS) and Civil Engineering Equipment programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as an Electrician
  • Certification as a Journeyman or Master Electrician
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to pass background investigation
  • Must complete required DoD/BUMED IT security training
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical system malfunctions
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply reference materials such as manufacturer manuals, regulations, catalogs, records, and orders
  • Ability to read and speak the English language with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format
  • Proficiency in US standard office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems)
  • Strong ethical principles and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
  • Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government-granted security clearance
  • Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on electrical systems and equipment
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical system malfunctions
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform electrical inspections and testing on CEE equipment
  • Support power generation and power distribution systems for EXMEDS platforms
  • Support maintenance of Civil Engineering End Items (CEEI) with electrical components
  • Perform Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) on electrical equipment
  • Generate Equipment Repair Orders (EROs) for annotating all equipment discrepancies
  • Perform operational tests of generators, power distribution systems, and other electrical equipment
  • Support preparation of electrical equipment for shipment via air or surface
  • Enter all maintenance actions into DMLSS Equipment & Technology Management (E&TM) Module or other government databases as directed
  • Maintain equipment history jackets for each piece of electrical equipment
  • Document worker time on equipment within each work order
  • Scan and electronically attach supporting documentation to work orders
  • Maintain calibration certificates and maintenance records
  • Comply with all fire, security, and safety regulations (OSHA, CFR)
  • Follow proper procedures for electrical safety and lockout/tagout
  • Report accidents/mishaps and property damage to COR/ACOR immediately
  • Maintain required certifications and training
