About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance and timely repairs. The Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician will troubleshoot malfunctions, perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The position involves working with various types of machinery, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. The role also requires maintaining equipment inventories, preparing reports, and collaborating with team members to ensure continuity of operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior field related experience
  • Ability to pass required company tests; required to maintain and show proficiency during probationary training
  • Previous experience in electrical engineering or other related fields
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and plumbing
  • Proficient in reading and writing

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and cutting skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoots and locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by conducting routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Troubleshoots motor and control systems.
  • Performs routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems.
  • Adheres to all quality and safety codes.
