About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant maintenance. The Maintenance Manager will provide training, conduct inspections, and oversee daily operations to ensure maximum uptime and availability of plant equipment. This position also involves managing maintenance costs within budget and utilizing reporting systems to prevent equipment failures. The role requires daily interaction with supervisors, mechanics, electricians, and operators to monitor progress on jobs, projects, and assignments. Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Mining Engineering or Industrial Technology and/or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in mine maintenance or maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience in a mining/manufacturing operation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting machine systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems, machine design, and automation systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and sketches.
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, prioritizing, and executing plans to deliver results and achieve operating objectives.
  • Understand and apply principles of root cause analysis in problem solving and equipment failures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of business finance and budgeting.
  • Effective Communication Skills - verbal and written.
  • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills.
  • Proficient Computer Skills - Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Effective Decision Making Skills.
  • Sound Business Judgement.
  • Ability to influence/persuade others.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly training and required inspections of equipment and work sites.
  • Conduct daily observations and feedback communications to maintenance personnel to ensure safe work practices.
  • Set priorities for Plant Maintenance Operations.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is scheduled and completed to maximize equipment uptime and availability.
  • Monitor progress of jobs, projects, and assignments through daily contact with supervisors, mechanics, electricians, and operators.
  • Control R & M costs within budget.
  • Utilize maintenance system reporting to identify and eliminate equipment failures before they occur.
  • Develop and improve the capabilities of assigned maintenance personnel.
  • Establish and maintain standards of performance and accountability.
