Maintenance Manager in Training, Chicago
About The Position
Equinox is seeking a motivated, dependable, hands-on Maintenance Manager in Training (MMIT) to develop toward a leadership role in facility maintenance operations. The MMIT works closely with Maintenance Managers and club leadership to learn daily operations, safety standards, team leadership, inventory management, and facility excellence. The development program is intended to prepare candidates for promotion to Maintenance Manager. Successful completion of the program, along with demonstrated leadership, operational knowledge, accountability, and performance, may lead to an opportunity to become a Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
- Knowledge of maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and exercise equipment.
- Knowledge and experience with tools.
- Knowledge and experience with janitorial cleaning products and OSHA standards.
- Current C.P.R. and First Aid Certification.
- Ability to use new techniques and ideas and solve problems.
- Honesty and personal integrity.
- Hardworking and diligent.
- High sense of urgency around work details.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the housekeeping department of a commercial business or fitness setting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining club cleanliness and facility standards.
- Learn and support daily maintenance operations and procedures.
- Conduct facility walkthroughs and identify maintenance concerns.
- Support locker room, laundry, and facility floor operations.
- Assist with inventory tracking and supply organization.
- Learn scheduling, staffing support, and shift management.
- Ensure safety protocols and company standards are followed.
- Support emergency response and facility issue resolution.
- Work with leadership to develop management and communication skills.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and staff.
