About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves monitoring equipment during production, performing necessary repairs or adjustments, documenting corrections, and conducting preventive maintenance. Responsibilities also include rebuilding and assisting with the installation of new equipment, as well as general maintenance throughout the facility. The job requires hands-on tasks such as greasing, oil changes, and cleaning plant equipment, along with troubleshooting mechanical problems using schematics and blueprints. Flexibility to work other shifts when necessary is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • At least 3 months of maintenance experience.
  • Enrollment in a maintenance / mechanical program can be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed.
  • Able to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
  • Able to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other obstacles.
  • Able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and from very wet to very dry.
  • Able to communicate and get along well with others.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Able to reach, lift and work overhead.
  • Able to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Minimum waiting period of 180 days for rehire.
  • Rehire rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on weekends.
  • Rebuild equipment as required.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance throughout the entire facility.
  • Manually grease, change oil, and clean various plant equipment.
  • Monitor equipment and computer boards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems using detailed schematics and blueprints.
  • Work other shifts when necessary.
  • Understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (e.g., Lockout/Tagout).
  • Comply with OSHA standards.
  • Work closely with other maintenance personnel.
  • Work with other devices that are very fragile and require precise attention.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Complete mandatory online training.
