About The Position

The Maintenance Foreman Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems within a Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by maximizing equipment uptime, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, plumbing, and pollution control systems, including Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs). The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, preventive maintenance expertise, and experience working in industrial manufacturing facilities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, equipment reliability, environmental compliance, and safe manufacturing practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) manufacturing or related industrial operations strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO), Hydraulics, Mechanical systems, Industrial troubleshooting, Basic electrical systems, Plumbing, and Preventive maintenance methodologies.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Basic welding skills required.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

  • Technical training or trade certification preferred.
  • Experience in FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) manufacturing or related industrial operations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to maximize equipment reliability and production uptime.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) systems used for air pollution control, VOC destruction, and odor management.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor maintenance effectiveness by tracking unplanned downtime and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain work order systems and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Maintain safety stock levels of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and critical inventory items.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance activities as needed.
  • Continuously observe equipment conditions and proactively schedule maintenance to prevent failures.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and organization within maintenance work areas.
  • Keep Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documentation current to identify and mitigate potential failures before adverse operational events occur.
  • Assist in installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Perform basic welding activities as needed.
  • Utilize computer systems and Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and maintenance tracking.
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, reliability, quality, and productivity.
