Maintenance Foreman
About The Position
Berger is looking for a Millwright Foreman at our Oakbank site to complete our already established maintenance team. This role offers great challenges in a company that focuses on innovation and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Foreman will supervise and schedule the maintenance team on rotation to follow production schedules, ensure routine and planned maintenance is completed on time, and be available to address unexpected breakdowns. The role involves identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with the team, engineering design team, and management to implement them. The Foreman will use leadership experience to mentor employees, address performance issues, and ensure engagement. Collaboration with various teams on improvement projects related to buildings, equipment, and the yard for the entire site is also a key part of the position.
Requirements
- You are a licensed journeyman in Industrial Mechanics (an asset)
- You hold a relevant diploma or certification (Red Seal is an asset)
- You are familiar with industrial electronics and controls
- You have 2-3 years of leadership experience supervising a small team
- You have previous experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts in industrial settings
- You are autonomous, organized and detail oriented in your work
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Supervise and schedule the maintenance team on rotation to follow production schedules
- Ensure that routine, planned maintenance, is completed on time
- Ensure the maintenance team is on hand to address unexpected breakdowns when they occur
- Identify opportunities for improvement and work with your team, the engineering design team, and management to bring those improvements to fruition
- Use your leadership experience to mentor your employees, to address performance issues and to ensure your employees are engaged and focused on completing tasks assigned to them
- Collaborate with various teams on improvement projects related to buildings, equipment and the yard for the entire site
