As a Team Manager – Maintenance & Engineering, you will lead maintenance operations for a manufacturing area while driving safety, equipment reliability, productivity, and continuous improvement. You will develop high-performing teams, optimize maintenance processes, and partner across Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Skilled Trades to support world-class quality, cost, and delivery objectives within the Ford Production System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience plus significant technical training.
  • 5+ years of maintenance, manufacturing engineering, or industrial operations experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of assembly manufacturing processes and the Ford Production System.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and structured problem-solving tools (Global 8D/4D, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions to achieve business results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Safe and Reliable Operations: Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, and environmental standards. Lead safety initiatives including construction safety, Arc Flash compliance, Pro-Tag implementation, and Pre-Task Analyses. Drive equipment reliability through standardized preventive and predictive maintenance strategies that maximize uptime and productivity. Ensure compliance with Maintenance Operating System standards and maintenance best practices.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, throughput, and equipment performance. Identify production constraints, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective actions using Global 8D/4D methodologies. Support launches and production start-ups by coordinating maintenance resources and ensuring equipment readiness. Monitor maintenance performance metrics and hold teams accountable for achieving operational objectives.
  • Optimize Cost and Performance: Manage departmental operating and maintenance budgets while controlling Maintenance Cost Per Unit (MCPU). Develop business cases and support capital and maintenance projects. Improve inventory management, spare parts utilization, repair and rebuild programs, and equipment maintainability. Balance maintenance priorities with production requirements to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Develop High-Performing Teams: Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors and skilled trades employees. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. Communicate departmental goals, performance expectations, and policy deployment through SQDCPME and other operating routines. Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to achieve plant objectives.
