About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer maintains and repairs hotel equipment and facilities, including kitchen, laundry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and guest rooms, while minimizing downtime. The role involves carrying out repairs, inspecting equipment, addressing malfunctions, handling chemicals and hazardous materials safely, and supporting building security. It is an active, hands-on position requiring flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of trade-related experience and/or training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance.
Ability to collaborate within a diverse team and work calmly under pressure.
Ability to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand or sit for up to eight hours at a time and position oneself to repair items in hard-to-reach areas.
Ability to occasionally climb a ladder to service lights, the roof, and perform other repairs.
Ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties involving walking, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs.

Responsibilities

Repair electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment while minimizing downtime.
Install and replace light fixtures and bulbs.
Conduct scheduled inspections and check and repair equipment malfunctions.
Use and store chemicals and hazardous materials properly and complete required reporting accurately.
Secure the building as needed, including monitoring, activating, and resetting automatic security systems.
Repair broken locks and maintain building keys.
Proactively identify and address maintenance problems throughout the hotel.
