About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer keeps the hotel’s systems and facilities operating smoothly and helps provide a safe, comfortable environment for guests and team members. The role performs inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and other hotel systems. It also includes maintaining guest rooms, common areas, and equipment; completing minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs; and responding to emergencies such as fire alarms and power outages. The position involves physically demanding work and requires following safety procedures when using tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Ability to move objects over 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Nice To Haves

Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field.
Trade license in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, and fine-tune the hotel’s plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems.
Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on equipment such as refrigerators and ice machines.
Complete minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems, leaks, and electrical issues.
Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms and power outages, with guest safety as a priority.
Move objects weighing over 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Follow OSHA safety guidelines when using tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery.
Keep work areas clean and safe, and store tools and hazardous materials properly.
