About The Position

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, experienced, hands-on Maintenance Engineer for the Hilton Garden Inn Ithaca. The role supports the hotel's grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, helping maintain safe, functional accommodations and a positive experience for guests and team members. The position includes preventive maintenance, responding to maintenance orders, inspecting hotel equipment and fixtures, and completing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general carpentry.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to exceed the expectations of guests and team members.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery; visually inspect machines; and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Hotel maintenance experience; the posting states a minimum of three (2) years is preferred.
• One year of college or trade school equivalent in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel guest rooms.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to help prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Paint, replace electrical accessories, and maintain HVAC systems.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation, and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Respond to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
• Fulfill work orders in a timely manner.
• Complete daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
