About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer III (Plumber) is responsible for the maintenance of all buildings and equipment throughout the resort. This role involves responding to calls and complaints to correct temperature conditions, monitoring public space temperatures, and performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on HVAC and related equipment. Specific duties include making repairs such as replacing mechanical parts, brazing, soldering, calibrating controls, and replacing pipes, fittings, and other related components. The position requires maintaining appropriate records of preventive maintenance and repairs, as well as daily logs. The role also demands a working understanding of controls, troubleshooting, and repair for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems, including reading schematics and rebuilding motors. When assigned as the Plumber, the role involves troubleshooting and repairing various plumbing systems such as domestic hot and cold water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, gas piping, pumps, and valves. It requires a strong mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems, including mid-rise water distribution, pressure regulating valves, circulation pumps, backflow prevention assemblies, and water pressure management. The role also includes maintaining and repairing plumbing equipment like water heaters, boilers, recirculation pumps, filtration systems, and various fixtures, while minimizing guest disruption. Adherence to OSHA regulations, local plumbing codes, and hotel safety standards is mandatory. The position requires effective workload scheduling and prioritization of plumbing repairs based on guest impact, operational needs, and emergencies. Collaboration with vendors, contractors, and team members is essential for proper repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems within budget expectations. Preventative maintenance on plumbing systems, monitoring water consumption, identifying leaks, and supporting water conservation efforts are also key responsibilities. A commitment to minimizing the risk of injury, property damage, or operational disruption is expected, along with the ability to act appropriately in emergency situations.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience as a HVAC mechanic, electrical, plumbing or other related maintenance field in a complex facility.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • EPA Certification Universal type preferred.
  • AZ driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to calls and complaints to correct temperature conditions in a positive, polite and timely manner.
  • Monitors public space temperatures, making appropriate adjustments when necessary.
  • Performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on HVAC and related equipment.
  • Makes repairs such as replacing mechanical parts, brazing, and soldering, calibrating controls, replacing pipe, fittings and other related components.
  • Maintain appropriate record of preventive maintenance and repairs as well as daily logs in English.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various plumbing systems including domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, gas piping, pumps, and valves.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems including mid-rise water distribution systems, pressure regulating valves, circulation pumps, backflow prevention assemblies, and water pressure management to ensure consistent guest room service.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing equipment supporting hotel operations including water heaters, boilers, recirculation pumps, filtration systems, guest room fixtures, public fixtures, and laundry plumbing systems.
  • Maintain and repair public space and guest room plumbing fixtures including sinks, faucets, showers, tubs, toilets, flush valves, and associated piping while minimizing guest disruption and maintaining service standards.
  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations, local plumbing codes, and hotel safety standards including proper lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices.
  • Schedule workload effectively and prioritize plumbing repairs based on guest impact, operational needs, and emergency situations.
  • Work closely with vendors, contractors, and team members to ensure proper repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems while maintaining budget expectations.
  • Schedule and complete Preventative Maintenance on plumbing systems including sanitary drain lines, pumps, water heaters, backflow devices, valves, public and guest room plumbing fixtures.
  • Assist in monitoring water consumption, identifying leaks, and supporting water conservation efforts across the property.
  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to guests and associates, damage to property, or disruption to hotel operations.
  • Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately.
