About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II (Pool Tech) for the Arizona Biltmore, an iconic resort in Phoenix. This role is responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance tasks across the property. The Arizona Biltmore is a 39-acre resort with over 700 rooms, extensive banquet space, multiple food and beverage outlets, a luxury spa, and seven pools. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Basic experience in maintenance trades to include electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry, required
  • Prior customer service experience, required

Nice To Haves

  • Training or Apprenticeship in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical, preferred
  • At least one (1) year experience in hotel or resort, preferred
  • Certification in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical, preferred
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License, preferred
  • CPR / First Aid Certified, preferred
  • CPO Certification, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine repair and maintenance of guest rooms and equipment as requested by guests.
  • Assess, troubleshoot, and determine appropriate action / next steps for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • For plumbing, perform soldering and maintain basic pipe knowledge. Measure and determine which fittings to use to re-pipe a line.
  • For electrical, troubleshoot low voltage controls circuits and maintain working knowledge of contactors, transformers, and relays, all components of a low voltage system.
  • For HVAC, replace AC components such as air filters, actuator, and check thermostats.
  • Perform basic carpentry work.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting testing procedures.
  • Use schematics, electrical and manual hand tools.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Schedule workload effectively.
  • Maintain detailed record keeping for logs and inspection sheets.
  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to guests and associates, damage to property.
  • Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately.
  • Perform daily chemical tests on all pools and spas and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Maintain all mechanical equipment associated with the operation of all pools, spas and fountains.
  • Perform daily safety checks of all aquatic equipment and areas.
  • Order for daily, weekly and monthly needs of all chemicals, parts and services for aquatics.
  • Maintain all reports for County Health Department and assist Inspector during inspections.
  • Oversee work done by outside vendors on all bodies of water and related equipment.
