About The Position

Elderwood at Burlington is seeking skilled, dependable, and safety-focused professionals for Maintenance Assistant / Transport Driver opportunities. This role supports both facility operations and resident transportation. The position involves general maintenance responsibilities such as repairs, upkeep, and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Additionally, the role includes safely transporting and assisting residents using company vehicles for admissions, medical appointments, and facility transfers. This is a hands-on role essential to supporting a welcoming, home-like atmosphere and directly contributes to resident comfort, dignity, and safety.

Requirements

Credentials verifying appropriate certificate and license in New York State- RN, LPN, LNA, PT, PTA; current State license/Certificate required.
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required.
Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others required.
Caring, respectful attitude toward residents required.
Physical stamina for constant activity required.
Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Responsibilities

Support building operations by performing repairs, upkeep, and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Safely transport and assist residents using company vehicles for admissions, medical appointments, and facility transfers.
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the facility.
Perform routine and specialized floor care including scrubbing, buffing, stripping, refinishing, and extracting.
Ensure a clean, polished, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Assist with ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by providing housekeeping support.
Maintain the cleanliness of all facility areas, including resident rooms, common areas, and offices.
Manage and maintain accurate medical records.
Support census growth, timely admissions, and a smooth transition process for new residents.
Provide personal and nursing care to meet the physical and emotional needs of residents.
Administer skilled physical therapy treatments.
Make recommendations for a speech-language therapy treatment plan and carry out treatments.
Conduct an audiometric screening of residents.
Plan and lead a variety of fun and enriching recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
Provide therapeutic and social programming designed to meet the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of residents.
Assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing administrative support.
Coordinate proper placement of documents in Medical Record.
Perform secretarial duties for assigned unit.
Assist with inventory and requisitioning of nursing supplies, forms, and stock medications.
Schedule various appointments, laboratory or other diagnostic needs.
Assist in ensuring the general health and well-being of our residents by providing direct nursing care.
Manage the daily clinical regimen of each resident and sub-acute patient.
Screen prospective residents for placement within the Elderwood organization.
