About The Position

Florence Home is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join its caregiving team. The role supports maintenance of the facility’s buildings, equipment, and grounds, including drywall repair, painting, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, lawn care, snow removal, and general outdoor upkeep. Maintenance staff cooperate to provide 24-hour on-call coverage. The assistant is also expected to help with reasonable resident or teammate requests beyond assigned duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience in drywall repair, painting, and general maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical repair, and the use of grounds care equipment.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds from ground to waist level and push or pull 100 pounds.
• Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and a clean criminal record.
• Ability to arrive on time and work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Repair drywall and paint as needed or at the direction of the supervisor.
• Maintain building grounds, including lawn care, snow removal, and general outdoor upkeep.
• Perform maintenance tasks for all buildings, equipment, and grounds, including basic plumbing and electrical repair.
• Cooperate to ensure maintenance staff are on call 24 hours a day.
• Help with reasonable resident or teammate requests beyond assigned duties.
